We got to stay on a farm! A real farm! After a week and a half in Galway, we traveled to the east side of Ireland to Castledermot. It is absolutely beautiful over here. Rolling green hills and pastures, little windy roads (Luke has not enjoyed driving on them, or on the opposite side of the road, I might add) and stunning farms. The place we are staying in used to be a barn and has been converted into a cottage. I fell in love! Flowers everywhere, and it’s only the beginning of spring. We had gloomy days and lots of rain but when the sun came out, man oh man was the scenery breathtaking.
Our hosts graciously showed us around the farm and the kids had a blast. This farm raises cows, sheep and chickens. Spring time means lots of new little lambs all around to see too! Right outside our cottage is a pasture and the kids got to say hello to the sheep everyday. Such a treat!
This leg of our trip in Ireland has gone by way too fast. I have so many more pictures to share. One of these days I’ll get caught up. We leave for Italy in a few hours. Everyone is asleep and I’ve just finished packing. More of our thoughts on Ireland soon. 🙂
